Hi! My name is Jenna and I am a new mom.
For most of my life, I didn't want to have kids. And it was for many reasons...why would I want to bring kids into this crazy world...I am a little scared of kids and don't know how to interact with them...I don't know enough about kids and care to keep a small child alive and healthy...what if I mess something up and I ruin my kid's life...
SO many fears and SO little hope or excitement.
Then everything changed in 2014 when I traveled to Honduras for 2 months as an intern with my college church - more about that in a post, but to make a long story short: I worked with an orphanage and fell in love with some precious children and realized that I would love to pour my love out to a sweet little child (or more).
I married a wonderful, Godly man in 2016 and 5 years later we got pregnant and had our first little babe! And guess what - I had NO idea what I was doing. No real background in babysitting (save for a few short times), not many friends with kids, not close in proximity with extended family with kids.
So...we figured it out step by step and day by day. I wanted to share my experience and talk & process through struggles and epiphanies with you!
As a visitor in the MomHood you are part of a fantastic community. I want this site to be a place where we can discover together, share advice, and discuss different options. I also want to be open, raw, and honest because, let's be honest, our society has been quiet on a lot of these things for a LONG time.
Thank you so much for being part of this community.! Keep in mind this is a work in progress. Love!
You are welcome to keep coming back here to see new content. However, a better option is to subscribe to my newsletter! You will get updates on new posts and special content that is only available to my subscribers.
[This part will be coming soon, feel free to sign up now for content later!]
I have a BS in Molecular Genetics from The Ohio State University, so I've learned a ton on the developmental & genetic side of things, which I find fascinating!
I also worked for a pregnancy association for two years before I got pregnant and found a lot of new information about what is and is not safe during pregnancy
